The Wild Atlantic Way
Wild, Rugged, Unspoiled, Untamed...
It's so easy to get caught up in this faced paced lifestyle, in this fast moving world. It’s so easy to forget the whip of a salty sea wind or the noisy thunder of waves. It’s easy to forget that somewhere a warm orange sun is falling behind cliffs and castles, or that lighthouses are keeping a blinking watch over a silvery sea. Yes, it's so easy to forget. But if you need a reminder - we recommend you Go West!
Have you ever dreamed of embarking on a journey of discovery, to hidden places and secret worlds where all kinds of enchantments lie waiting for you? Well now you can, along what is set to be the wildest, most captivating, coastal driving route in the world - Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way!
The Wild Atlantic Way is Ireland's first long-distance driving route, stretching along the Atlantic coast from Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal to Kinsale in West Cork. The coastal route runs for am impressive 2500km from start to finish with a massive 35 major points of interest along the way, 8 of which are nestled within easy distance of Broadhaven Bay Hotel. It's not all about the driving though - it's about providing linkages to all there is to see and do on the beautiful West Coast. Cycling, walking, adventure, heritage & culture, scenery, food and of course the people you meet along the way.
Tucked away in little villages and towns that snuggle into the coastline are delightful cafes and restaurants, where you can indulge in your passion for good food and great wine. Maybe you will hear a few words of Irish spoken along the way in Ireland’s Gaeltacht (Irish speaking regions) or reignite your passion for life while surfing on magnificent waves off the coast. Wherever you go along the Wild Atlantic Way, you will encounter moments of magic, moments to treasure and experiences that you will want to return to again and again.
Some are likening The Wild Atlantic Way to “Route 66” in the States or The Great Ocean Road in Australia but either way when you take this trip you will experience the roadtrip of a lifetime.
